Temperature maximum (satellite)

Key: era5_tmax | Secondary data | Category: Weather

Temperature values derived from ERA5 reanalysis data, aggregated to the respective administrative unit.

Temperature values per administrative unit are derived by calculating the arithmetic mean of all ERA5 grid cell centroids within that unit. The native spatial resolution of ~0.25° (~28 km) limits precision for small administrative units. Administrative units containing no grid points receive no value. As a reanalysis product, values represent modelled estimates and may deviate from locally measured precipitation. No area-weighted or spatial correction is applied.

ERA5 is a global atmospheric reanalysis dataset produced by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) as part of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). It provides daily statistical summaries derived from hourly reanalysis data on single levels. Data is available globally and accessed for the specific area of interest.
